This book was fantastically written and I really enjoyed how the author gave a darker, more contemporary twist to an age-old beloved fairytale story. I also loved how the author captured a lot of emotions in a concise but wonderfully written story.

Cinderella has been harvesting her white magic for years; ever since her father died. Her magical powers grow when she is good, which enables her to change her appearance, and it also grants her wishes. However, Cinderella has been stocking up on this magic just because she wants to take revenge on her family for the way that they have been treating her.
The night of the ball, Cinderella asks her fairy godmother to make her irresistible to the Prince, whom she wants to marry so that she can be Queen and seek revenge against her family. However, after her grandmother grants her wish, Cinderella learns that the Prince is an evil man who killed his prior wife.
So even though the Prince falls for her because of her magic, Cinderella is repulsed by him; she runs away and he follows her, suggesting that he will find her no matter what.
What happens when he finds the shoe that Cinderella left behind on the night of the ball?
