Book Review: Blood Witch by Cate Tiernan (Book 3 of the Sweep Series)

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars Genre: Supernatural Fiction Age Recommended: 14 and up This is my favorite book in the series so far because it is really fast-paced and rather intense. —————————————– Morgan has been learning about witchcraft. She has a boyfriend who loves her and has magical powers to be reckoned with. As of now, her life seems perfect. However, a boy names Hunter and a girl named Sky soon come into the picture. Hunter is a sly, vicious, snide boy who hates Cal with a passion and Sky is the blood witch who is leading the coven that … Continue reading Book Review: Blood Witch by Cate Tiernan (Book 3 of the Sweep Series)

Book Review: The Coven by Cate Tiernan (Book 2 of the Sweep Series)

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars Genre: Supernatural Fiction Age Recommendation: 14 and up I felt that this was a little slower paced than the first book, but I still liked it. However, the cliffhangers in this series are not funny. WHY?!! The author really needs to stop torturing devoted readers and just tell us what happens. Luckily, I have bought the entire series and cannot wait to devour the rest of them! ———————————————– Morgan has finally accepted the fact that she is a blood witch. However, she is eager to find out more about her past, since she is adopted. … Continue reading Book Review: The Coven by Cate Tiernan (Book 2 of the Sweep Series)

Book Review: Book of Shadows by Cate Tiernan (Book 1 of the Sweep Series)

She has her friends and she has her enemies. She loves movies and hanging with her best friend, Bree. Everything is great until a new boy called Cal, comes to her school. He introduces her to a world of witchcraft. Book Review: A Dog’s Journey by W. Bruce Cameron

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars Genre: Fiction Age Recommendation: 13 and up This book is the sequel to A Dog’s Purpose and I found it just as interesting. A very inspirational story! ———————————————– The story ends in A Dog’s Purpose with Buddy being sure that he had fulfilled his purpose. However, Ethan’s best friend’s granddaughter proved him otherwise. Buddy saw baby Clarity one day and decided that she needed some help and guidance of her own. This book follows Clarity through her life, where Buddy is with her, every step of the way. He is behind boxes, watching Clarity lie to … Continue reading Book Review: A Dog’s Journey by W. Book Review: A Dog’s Purpose by W. Bruce Cameron

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars Age Recommended: Anyone and everyone (especially dog owners) Genre: Fiction An amazing book about the four lives of a dog and the true meaning of a dog’s purpose from a dog’s point of view. At this point, I can say with confidence that this is the best book I’ve ever read. Not only because it has a fantastic story or because it is incredibly well written. Not because it’s fiction. But because it’s the only book I’ve read, in recent memory, that has truly made me think about it after reading it. with most … Continue reading Book Review: A Dog’s Purpose by W. Bruce Cameron

Book Review: An Astronaut’s Guide To Life On Earth by Colonel Chris Hadfield

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars Genre: Non-Fiction Age Recommendation: I believe that everyone should read this book- it’s very well written! This is an extremely inspirational story about a man who persevered his whole life to achieve his dream and how he overcame all the obstacles that stood in his way. This book was my summer reading assignment and I enjoyed reading it immensely. The first time around, I was put off by the fact that this book was non-fiction and therefore could not focus. However, the second time around, I realized that this book was as good as any … Continue reading Book Review: An Astronaut’s Guide To Life On Earth by Colonel Chris Hadfield

Book Review: The Last Time We Say Goodbye by Cynthia Hand

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars Genre: Fiction Age Recommendation: 13 and up I liked this book a lot and it also fit my 2015 Reading Challenge Category of: A book with a character that’s shifty. ——————————————– Alexis’ brother, Tyler,  has just committed suicide and her world seems at an end. It doesn’t help maters that her parents are divorced so her family doesn’t have enough money to pay for the funeral. Alexis is unable to get over Ty’s death and is also enraged at him for not leaving her a note as he did for her mother and his girlfriend … Continue reading Book Review: The Last Time We Say Goodbye by Cynthia Hand

Book Review: Quidditch Through the Ages by J.K. Rowling

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars Genre: Fiction (although I wish it wasn’t) Age Recommendation: EVERYONE I cannot believe that I forgot about this book. A very nice family friend gave me this book as a gift and another one: Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find them for my birthday! For those of you who don’t know (tsk tsk), these books are mentioned in the Harry Potter series and I am elated that J.K Rowling decided to actually write them! I hope she publishes The Monster Book of Monsters next.    😉 All in all, this was a great book and I found it … Continue reading Book Review: Quidditch Through the Ages by J.K. Rowling

Book Review: Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them by J.K. Rowling

Rating: 5 out of  stars Genre: Fiction (if only it wasn’t) Age Recommendation: Everyone (I cannot stress this enough) Another one of the amazing books mentioned in the Harry Potter series has come to life in J.K. Rowling’s hands. I found this book especially funny because it is Harry’s property and he has written his own funny notes all over the book. To be honest, I found his notes more interesting than the actual text of the book (which I am sure was the author’s intention). Also, I just realized- they’re making a movie on this book!!! It will be released next … Continue reading Book Review: Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them by J.K. Rowling
