Book Review: The Oddfits by Tiffany Tsao (Book one of the Oddfits series)

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars

Genre: Fiction

Age Recommended: 11 and up

I felt that this book was very drawn-out and I kept waiting for something exciting to happen, only to find the book end abruptly. Also, the author introduced a random character in the middle of the book, only to kill him off later, and I didn’t really see the point of that because the author didn’t really build the character  and the character had close to no relevance to the book.

The Oddfits

—————————————–

Murgatroyd Floyd, has never really exceeded expectations, or even met him. To those around him, he seems to be a dull boy, who has the misfortune of being dumb. This is true, but only because Murgatroyd is in the wrong world. Murgatroyd is what is known as an Oddfit, a person who doesn’t fit into the Known World.

Lucky for him, there is a place called the More Known World- a place for people that don’t fit in anywhere else. However, as soon as Murgatroyd finds out about this wonderful place, everyone else seems hell-bent on not letting him reach it. Even his own parents guilt-trip him into wanting to stay.

Who else will try to keep Murgatroyd from this wonderful world?
