This book was really fun to read because of how the interaction between the key characters was portrayed. However, I didn’t particularly enjoy the fact that every time a new character was introduced, you found them dead shortly after. While I understand why the author chose to write the book this way, it made me want to skip those sections and only read the other parts of the book.

Inspector Rebecca Mayfield arrives at a bar to see a man shot dead and a person she once had a relationship with, Richie, being dragged away. The other people in her police department are sure that Richie is the perpetrator, but when he breaks loose of police custody and shows up at Rebecca’s doorstep, she must consider the possibility that he may be innocent.
Richie has been set up. This much he manages to prove to Rebecca. Moreover, when other people are murdered while Richie is right next to Rebecca, she must admit that he has no part in this conspiracy.
However, when everyone that Rebecca attempts to interview is killed one by one, she doesn’t know whom to trust anymore.
Will she be able to find the murderer and prove Richie innocent?
