This is my third book review for the Countdown… and book three of The Heroes Of Olympus series.

I hope to have reviewed the entire Lost Heroes series before The Blood Of Olympus comes out!

Leo flies the Argo II into Camp Jupiter where the Greek and Roman demigods start discussing ways to stop the giants. Annabeth receives a message from her mother that tells her to find the Mark Of Athena and to avenge her. While she and Reyna are talking, Leo gets possessed by an eidolon, an evil spirit, and starts firing at Camp Jupiter.

The Roman demigods are outraged and all seven of them fly away in the Argo II before they get shot at by Romans.

Annabeth and the other six travel to find the Athena Parthenos, a magical statue of Athena that has the power to stop a war. At the end of their chase however, Annabeth says that she has to find it alone. She then battles the guardian of the Parthenos, Arachne, a huge spider who was once a goddess but had gotten bewitched by Athena.

Annabeth is very close to beating Arachne but something else happens that brings her to the brink of death.

Will Annabeth survive?
